Race Comments: BIT OF WHIMSY, reserved along the inside from early on, was unhurried to the far turn, came around GOOD MOOD when advancing, continued inside into the lane, eased out three wide, caught front-running DREAMING OF ANNA a sixteenth out, took over and drove well clear under energetic handling. DREAMING OF ANNA bobbled slightly while breaking alertly, gained the lead to race two wide, went along under careful handling, was well clear for the final furlong but not a match for the winner in the late going. COQUERELLE (IRE), slightly sluggish at the break, quickly worked her way forward to press DREAMING OF ANNA three or four wide, raced forwardly into the deep stretch and came up empty. COSTUME (GB), within striking distance while following the leaders four wide, fanned wider into the upper stretch but could gain only slightly at the end. TOUCH MY SOUL (FR), outrun three wide to the far turn, was seven wide when straightened into the lane and couldn't muster a serious late threat. CLASSIC NEEL, outrun for six furlongs and three or four wide, circled nine wide into the lane and never fired. SHARP SUSAN stalked the pace three or four wide into the upper stretch and flattened out. GOOD MOOD (IRE) raced near the inside and failed to menace. STREET SOUNDS, forwardly placed near the inside to the far turn, weakened gradually. |
