Wonder Lady Anne L retired

The Blood-Horse

Grade I winner Wonder Lady Anne L has been retired from racing and will be bred to Giant's Causeway. The 4-year-old daughter of Real Quiet last raced in the Jan. 14 El Encino Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita and finished third. Her big win, in the Coaching Club American Oaks (gr. I) last summer, came for IEAH Stables, Jachlen Farm, Sanford H. Robbins, and Orchard Kids Stable.

“She'd basically been very hit or miss in her training of late, and rather than press on we decided to make sure we didn't miss the 2007 breeding season with her,” said IEAH co-president Michael Iavarone. “Obviously, we were thrilled with what she accomplished for us on the racetrack, and as much as we'd looked forward to racing her as a 4-year-old we are equally excited by adding her to our broodmare band and sending a grade I winner to Giant's Causeway.”

Wonder Lady Anne L retired with 10 wins or placings in 14 starts and earnings of $459,488. She won the Demoiselle Stakes (gr. II) at 2 and placed in a career total of six stakes. Bred in Kentucky by Dan White and Highland Farm, she is out of the Wild Zone mare Ancho.
