2. Login to the contest site and make your selections

Players will start each week's contest with a $50 bankroll.  Your objective is to earn as much money as possible by wagering that $50 through a virtual tote system, designed to replicate what you will encounter at the race track or simulcast outlet.  IMPORTANT NOTE: OF YOUR $50 CONTEST WAGERING FUNDS, ONLY $20 MAY BE SPENT ON EXOTICS (EXACTAS AND TRIFECTAS).

You may make your wagers among the following wagers:

  • Win: your horse must finish first
  • Place: your horse must finish first OR second
  • Show: your horse must finish first OR second OR third
  • Exacta: you are picking the first TWO finishers in EXACT order
  • Trifecta: you are picking the first THREE finishers in EXACT order

You may play as many tickets as you wish with the $50—there is no limit.  For Exacta and Trifecta wagers, you may play the following types of bets:

  • Straight Wagers: Picking one horse per finishing position

Examples: $2 Exacta 4-5 (the 4 horse must finish first, and the 5 horse must finish second); $2 Trifecta 1-4-7 (the 1 horse must finish first, the 4 horse must finish second, and the 7 horse must finish third).

  • Box Wagers: The horses you designate can finish in ANY order

Examples: $2 Exacta Box 1-7-8 (any combination of the exacta involving these horses will win); $2 Trifecta 2-5-7-9  (any combination of the trifecta involving these horses will win).

  • Wheel Wagers: You designate the horse(s) for each finishing position

Examples: $2 Exacta Wheel 5 with 7,8 (the 5 horse must finish first and EITHER the 7 or 8 horse must finish second); $2 Trifecta Wheel 1 with 4,5,6 with 4,5,6 (the 1 horse must finish first, EITHER the 4, 5 or 6 horse must finish second and EITHER the 4, 5 or 6 horse must finish third).

You may play as many horses as you like in Box and Wheel wagers, but keep in mind that the more horses you choose, the more expensive your wager will cost.  A wagering calculator is provided to help you price the wagers you are planning.

The minimum wager amount for Win, Place and Show wagers is $2.  For Exacta and Trifecta wagers, $1 straight, box and wheel wagers may be played.

Coupled entries will be regarded as a single interest for wagering purposes.

Contest Selections:

IMPORTANT: Contest wagering closes 5 minutes prior to the official post time for the contest race. Closing times of races WILL NOT CHANGE unless there is a major disruption in the race schedule (e.g., delays due to severe weather).  It is important that you check the official post time for each race to ensure that your selections are made on time.  REPEAT: Closing times of contest races are 5 minutes prior to the official scheduled post times of the races and WILL NOT CHANGE due to minor delays.

LATE SCRATCHES: In the event of a late scratch (i.e. at the gate), users may change selections provided selections have not yet closed for that given race. If selections have already closed, the selected horse will be replaced with the post-time favorite for that race. Selections WILL NOT RE-OPEN after closing due to a late scratch.

All Exacta and Trifecta wagers involving scratched horses will be voided and will not count for contest purposes.

SCORING

Players will accumulate earnings based on winning wagers on the designated race for each given week.  All payouts will be reported in gross based on the actual track payout.

Should a player exceed the earnings of the selected expert handicapper for that given week, a $50 bonus will be awarded to that player.

The $50 in wagering bankroll per week WILL NOT COUNT toward your score.  Any unused monies will be considered lost and are not transferable to the next week’s contest.

Due to the high volume of wagers that must be processed after the race is official, it is expected that scoring will be posted approximately ONE HOUR after the race is declared official.

3. Check your score after racing is complete

A leaderboard will be published for each contest week.  A leaderboard will also be maintained for the length of each contest season.  Prizes will be awarded on both a weekly and season-long basis.

It is expected that scoring will be available approximately ONE HOUR after the contest race is declared official.

Please also note that in order to receive prizes, a physical mailing address for winning players MUST be present in the E-Club profile of each player.  Winning entries not containing physical addresses will be forfeited and awarded to the next player that has provided a physical address.
