EMIRATES AIRLINE RACING AROUND THE WORLDTM SWEEPSTAKES

Official Rules

1. ELIGIBILITY No purchase necessary to enter or win. The Emirates Airline Racing Around the WorldTM Sweepstakes (the "Contest") is open to people who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry and who are citizens of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec). Void where prohibited.

2. METHOD OF ENTRY Entrants can enter online by completing the official entry form at www.ntra.com, www.breederscup.com, www.emirates.com/usa, www.NYRA.com, www.ESPN.com and at participating National Thoroughbred Racing Association, Inc. ("NTRA") member web sites. Entrants can also write to Racing Around The World SweepstakesTM, c/o NTRA, 2525 Harrodsburg Road, Suite 500, Lexington, KY 40504 to receive an official entry form and enter by mail. Contest runs September 1, 2006 - October 13, 2006. Entries must be postmarked or submitted electronically no later than 11:59 p.m., October 13, 2006. One entry per person per day (i.e., a twenty-four time period beginning 12:00 a.m. and concluding 11:59 p.m.). Incomplete or illegible entry forms are not eligible for entry. No photocopied or mechanically produced entries will be accepted. NTRA is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, altered or illegible entries. Entries become the property of the NTRA and will not be returned.

3. METHOD OF DETERMINING WINNERS

Second Prize Twenty-five Second Prize winners will be selected by a random drawing from all eligible entries and announced on October 14, 2006 and posted on NTRA.com and on the Prizes page of this contest site. Entrants need not be present to win a Second Prize. Odds of winning a Second Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

First Prize Three First Prize winners will be selected by a random drawing from all eligible entries (except for entries previously selected as winners of a Second Prize) and announced on LIVE television on October 14, 2006 during the NTRA's Emirates Airline Countdown to the Breeders' Cup Saturday telecast between 4:00 - 6:00 pm EDT. on ESPN. Entrants need not be present to win a First Prize. Odds of winning a First Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Grand Prize The three First Prize winners will be entered in a second random drawing to select the Grand Prize winner. The random drawing will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky and announced on LIVE television during the 2006 Breeders' Cup World Championships ("Breeders' Cup") telecast. First Prize winners must be present at Churchill Downs on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the Breeders' Cup to be entered in the drawing for the Grand Prize. Odds of winning a Grand Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

4. PRIZES

Second Prize Twenty-five Second Prize Winners will win a prize pack of Official Breeders' Cup and Emirates Airline merchandise.

First Prize Three individuals will win a trip for two people to the 2006 Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, and will also be eligible to win the Grand Prize.

Each First Prize package consists of:

  • Business-class round-trip airfare for (2) persons. Value: U.S. $1,800/ea = U.S. $3,600
  • 3-night double occupancy hotel accommodations at the Louisville Downtown Marriott. Value: U.S. $800
  • (2) tickets to the Thursday night official Breeders' Cup Grey Goose VIP Party. Value: U.S. $100/ea = U.S. $200
  • (2) VIP tickets to the Breeders' Cup as a guest of Emirates Airline. Value: U.S. $800/ea = U.S. $1,600
  • Ground transportation to and from hotel/airport and hotel/racetrack. Value: U.S. $600

Total Value of each First Prize = U.S. $6,800

Grand Prize One Grand Prize winner will be drawn from the First Prize winners in attendance at the Breeders' Cup to be held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, November 4, 2006 to receive the Grand Prize package of a VIP Trip for two to the 2007 Dubai World Cup to be held at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in Dubia, UAE on March 31, 2007. Each First Prize winner must be present at the Breeders' Cup held at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky on November 4, 2006, to be entered in the random drawing for the Grand Prize. A First Prize winner's inability to attend the Breeders' Cup shall constitute forfeiture of a First Prize including the First Prize winner's right to be entered in the Grand Prize drawing. If a First Prize winner is unable to attend the Breeders' Cup for any reason, an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing from all remaining eligible entries at NTRA offices, 2525 Harrodsburg Road, Suite 500, Lexington, KY. Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received. To be declared a winner, potential winning Canadian entrants will also be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by mail.

The Grand Prize package consists of:

  • Business-class round-trip airfare for (2) guests on Emirates Airline to Dubai. Value: U.S. $20,000
  • 5-night double occupancy hotel accommodations at a premier Dubai hotel. Value: U.S. $5,000
  • (2) tickets to the Dubai World Cup Breakfast with the Stars. Value: U.S. $500/ea = U.S. $1,000
  • (2) tickets to the Thursday night official Arabian Nights Party. Value: U.S. $500/ea = U.S. $1,000
  • (2) VIP tickets to the Dubai World Cup as a guest of Emirates Airline. Value: U.S. $1,500/ea = U.S. $3,000
  • Ground transportation to and from hotel/airport and hotel/racetrack. Value: U.S. $2,000

Total Grand Prize Value = U.S. $32,000

5. RESTRICTIONS Each First Prize winner, the Grand Prize winner and their respective guests must be available to travel to both Louisville, Kentucky and Dubai, UAE, in accordance with airline departure schedules and seating availability and availability of hotel space. Certain blackout dates and other travel restrictions may apply. No other prizes will be awarded. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. Neither NTRA nor its agents are responsible for any liability associated with the acceptance or use of a prize. Additionally, if either the winner and/or his or her guest is unable to travel by the designated type of transportation for any reason, the winner and his or her guest must make their own arrangements for an alternate form of transportation at their sole cost and expense. Decisions of the NTRA are final.

6. REQUIREMENTS An NTRA official will notify each winner of his or her selection. Each of the three First Prize winners and the Grand Prize winner will be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability, which must be signed by the winner and received by the NTRA within 7 days of the date printed on the notification, or an alternate winner will be selected in a random drawing of the remaining entrants at NTRA offices, 2525 Harrodsburg Road, Suite 500, Lexington, KY. NTRA makes no warranties regarding the deliverability of the notification. Winner's guest also must sign and return a travel release form. If any prize notification letter or any prize is undeliverable, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner selected by a random drawing of the remaining entries at NTRA offices, 2525 Harrodsburg Road, Suite 500, Lexington, KY. Each winner and guest are solely responsible for all passport and VISA expenses and requirements. All taxes, including income and sales taxes, and other expenses not stated herein are the sole responsibility of the winner and guest.

7. PERMISSION Acceptance of prize constitutes permission by winner and winner's guest to use the name, hometown and likeness of each for such purposes as, without limitation, advertising, promotion and publicity, where lawful, without additional compensation.

8. SPONSORS This contest is sponsored by Emirates Airline and the NTRA. Employees of Emirates Airline, NTRA, Breeders' Cup Limited, NTRA participating members, sponsors and the respective affiliates, subsidiaries, dealers and retailers, advertising and production agencies of each, and the immediate families of each employee, are not eligible to participate in this contest. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.

9. WINNERS For the names of the winners, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope before October 1, 2006 to: Racing Around The World Sweepstakes, NTRA, 2525 Harrodsburg Road, Suite 500, Lexington, KY 40504. Contest Entities reserve the right to change these rules without notice to comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

10. DISCLAIMERS Breeders' Cup Limited, Emirates Airline, NTRA, ESPN, Inc., its parent and affiliates and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and successors and/or the participating members of the NTRA (collectively, the "Contest Entities") are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrectly addressed, incomplete, illegible, undeliverable or destroyed entries resulting from any reason, including: any hardware or software failures of any kind; lost or unavailable network connections; failed, incomplete or distorted computer or telephone transmissions; typographical or system errors; problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers or computer equipment; or technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at a Web site, or any combination thereof. Contest Entities also are not responsible for any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from playing the Contest, downloading any material for the Contest or other telecommunications malfunctions that may limit an entrant's ability to participate. Contest Entities may prohibit you from participating in the Contest or winning a prize, if in their sole discretion they determine you are attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other players or Contest Entities representatives. If, for any reason, this Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of Contest Entities that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Contest Entities reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest WITHOUT ANY LIABILITY TO ANY PERSON. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE CONTEST WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, NTRA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
