A Whitney hombred, Eton Blue won his first race in a January 5 maiden before finishing second to Derby hopeful Verrazano in an allowance race on February 2. The Nick Zito trainee stepped onto the Derby trail in the Tampa Bay Derby (G2).
Eton Blue is by European horse of the year Giant's Causeway and out of champion 3-year-old filly Bird Town. Bird Town is a half-sister to Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Birdstone and from the family of stakes winner Noactor.
