The 2011 Travers Stakes (G1) winner and Belmont Stakes (G1) runner-up, Stay Thirsty returned in 2012 for another run at the Breeders' Cup World Championships. He faded to seventh after he raced in second in early stretch in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1).
Owned by Repole Stable, Stay Thirsty opened his season with a Grade 3 victory and subsequently finished third in the prestigous Metropolitan Handicap (G1). The talented colt is a contender for both the Classic and the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) in 2012.
