Sum of the Parts has passed through the auction ring twice – bringing $75,000 as a yearling at Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale of selected yearlings, then double that at the 2011 Barretts Equine Ltd. March sale of selected 2-year-olds in training.

His sire is champion sprinter Speightstown and his dam (mother), Enjoy the Moment, earned more than $540,000 while capturing several stakes, including the A Gleam (G2), Rancho Bernardo (G3) and Las Flores (G3) Handicaps.

Sum of the Parts punched his ticket to the 2012 XpressBet Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) with a front-running victory in the Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes (G3 ) at Keeneland on Oct. 5. The Phoenix was his first graded stakes win.
