Voices From The Grandstand

  • Sports Illustrated football columnist Peter King in his “Monday Morning Quarterback” column on SI.com:

Excellent 60 Minutes Sunday night, with a riveting tale of a male nurse of death and a story about a female jockey, Rosie Napravnik, who apparently has a chance in the Kentucky Derby Saturday.

  • Noted milliner Stephen Jones, quoted by Tommye Fitzpatrick in Elle.com, in response to a question about whether he had been to the Kentucky Derby:

No, I haven't, and I really, really want to go. It's just before the cruise collections in Paris, so I'm going to be in Monaco working on Dior. But I always look at pictures of it.
