Our third day in Louisville started off at the crack of dawn as Ambassador John Cox was on WLKY radio live at 5:00 am spreading the word about the ABRV tour before we went to Churchill Downs for a day at the track. There was a huge line of people going into the track as people lined up in their finest race day attire.
The ABRV also began our Oaks and Derby ticket give-away! Seven of our lucky twitter followers who correctly answered some trivia questions received free tickets to the Oaks! Be sure to follow @ABRVtour on Twitter for more giveaways!
John and I also met model and NBA scout Bonnie-Jill Laflin as well as model and NASCAR personality Hollie Huggins at the Galt House Hotel in Downtown Louisville for an interview on the Kentucky Derby, especially Derby Fashion and the party scene. Laflin has been attending the Derby for 11 years straight and she even owns racehorses with her father! Huggins is also a die-hard Derby fan and has been attending for the past 10 years. Both Laflin and Huggins were on their way to attend Ferdinand’s Ball later that evening, which benefits Old Friends, a charity dedicated to caring for retired thoroughbred racehorses. You can check out the interview with Laflin on our ABR Live video.
As we were leaving the hotel, we ran into Joey Fatone from N’Sync!
The great part about the Derby is that you never know who you are going to run into next!
Later that evening the ABRV team headed over to the Derby Poker Celebrity Championship where we met world poker champion Phil Hellmuth and actress Jennifer Tilly. They even gave a shout out to Ambassador Chip McGaughey!
Here is Chip with Phil Hellmuth.
Chip also got a photo with Jenniffer Tilly.
And we can’t forget out the epic entrance of the ABRV to the Derby infield!
Once the ABRV finally got into the infield we knew the next two days were going to be amazing.
I hope you were able to stop by the ABRV if you were in the infield at Churchill Downs!
