If consistency is indeed a virtue, then there’s plenty to like about Scarlet Strike in Saturday’s Senorita Stakes at Betfair Hollywood Park.

The 3-year-old filly has started 10 times in her career and has yet to turn in a poor effort. She has never been worse than third and that consistency plus a victory in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes on turf in her last start make her an attractive choice in the Senorita.

Scarlet Strike closed from the back of the pack to take the 1 1/8-mile Providencia and that late kick – not to mention her consistency - should serve her well again in Saturday’s $100,000 turf stakes, even if it will be contested at a shorter, one-mile distance.

Disko Dasko could provide the most competition. The European import stretches out after a pair of 6 ½-furlong races in her first two starts in the United States, and could be tough to reel in against this field.

Charlie Em is the X factor in the race as she makes her U.S. debut and could be poised for a sharp effort under Garrett Gomez in her first race on these shores.

Sweet Red Cat is another who cannot be ignored. Scarlet Strike got the jump on her when she finished third in the Providencia but the daughter of Bluegrass Cat could atone here with a rider switch to Victor Espinoza. She has finished in the money in five of her six career starts, a virtue that makes her another of the attractive options in a race where consistency may reign supreme.
