The Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes is one of several fantastic betting opportunities to be run on the Belmont Stakes card on Saturday.

The favorite is California shipper Let Em Shine for trainer Adam Kitchingman. The bay son of Songandaprayer is lightly raced, but very accomplished - having handily defeated the opposition in a minor stakes off the freshening last time out on his home track at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Also entering off a win is Forty Tales, who will find himself in the starting gate with several runners he defeated in the Derby Trial Stakes last out, namely Capo Bastone and Zee Bros. The latter had a scintillating workout at Churchill Downs on Tuesday under jockey Rosie Napravnik before catching a van to Belmont Park.

Several of these runners also met at Gulfstream Park gate during the winter. Speedy Merit Man beat lesser stakes company in winning the Spectacular Bid Stakes, the gray Honorable Dillon took the Grade 2 Hutcheson Stakes in February, and Clearly Now stays at his preferred seven-furlong distance after a strong workout against stablemate Grand Arch at Belmont.

The local contingent is led Declan's Warrior, who draws the rail looking for his fourth straight victory in a near-perfect career.

Also in the field are longshots Salutos Amigos, Retreive, and Tenango.

Growing up halfway between Hollywood Park and Del Mar, Molly Jo Rosen spent more time at the "horse beach" than the sandy ones. One ride on a pony named Coco at 18 months old had her hooked, and she spent 15 years as a showjumper before a routine birthday trip to Del Mar came with the realization that racing was the life she wanted.

Since then, Molly Jo has traveled across the country working on the best backstretches, frontstretches and farms in the industry. She has held positions with TVG, Churchill Downs, Three Chimneys Farm, and Puglisi Racing, among others.
