Groupie Doll entered the auction ring at the Keeneland November sale just four days after she scored a repeat victory in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. Trainer and co-breeder Buff Bradley talked prior to her sale for $3.1 million about what the great racemare means to him and his family and what makes her so special. She remained in training with Bradley and is scheduled to make her final career start on Sunday in the Hurricane Bertie Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
Groupie Doll has won 11 of 22 lifetime starts, including the 2012 and 2013 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, and earned $2,528,850. Offered at the Keeneland November sale by Tom Evans' Trackside Farm on behalf of owners Buff Bradley, his father, Fred, Carl Hurst and Brent Burns, Groupie Doll was purchased by Mandy Pope’s Whisper Hill Farm. Pope returned Groupie Doll to Bradley for the final two races of her career.
