The U.S. Department of Treasury has indicated that it is closely monitoring both the quality and quantity of recently submitted comments related to attempts by the horse racing industry to convince the Treasury to modernize tax regulations relating to withholding and reporting of pari-mutuel winnings. The NTRA has set a goal to obtain 10,000 submissions by the June 2 deadline. To date, more than 3,000 comments have been made.
