  • Has ridden in one previous Breeders' Cup, finishing ninth with Charlie's Beau in the 1999 Juvenile.
  • Got interested in racing because his father owned horses and took him to the races. One summer, his dad's trainer hired him to work on his farm and the next summer the trainer allowed him to gallop horses. That's when he decided he wanted to be a jockey.

  • Top mounts have included Catboat (G3 Arlington Breeders' Cup Oaks in 2004), Spanish Empire (G3 Fifth Season Stakes in 2004), Runway Model (G2 Golden Rod Stakes in 2004), Halory Leigh (G2 Falls City Handicap in 2004) and Real Cozzy (G2 Fair Grounds Oaks in 2001).
  • Rode a record-tying six winners at Fair Grounds on Jan. 18, 2004.
  • Home in Metairie, La. was damaged and summer home in Bay St. Louis, Miss. was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
