- Family: son Keiber.
- Through Oct. 4, 2009, Coa ranked 22nd in the nation by purse earnings, with $5,945,120 and has had 121 winners from 837 starters. He visited the winner’s circle 14% of the time, and finished in the money at a 38% rate.
- In 16 previous Breeders' Cup mounts, Coa's best finishes have been fourths in the Classic (Super Frolic, 2005), the Filly & Mare Sprint (Dream Rush, 2007), and the Juvenile (Tale of Ekati, 2007 Juvenile).
- Currently rides the New York (Belmont Park/Saratoga Race Course), Kentucky (Keeneland Race Course), and Florida (Gulfstream Park) circuits with new agent Mike Kelly, who took his book in late spring of 2009.

- Led all riders at Gulfstream in 2008, then won the Belmont spring/summer title. Owns riding titles at Belmont Park, Gulfstream, Monmouth Park, Aqueduct, Calder, and Tropical-at-Calder.
- Led all riders in New York in 2007 and 2006 when paired with agent Matt Muzikar. In 2006, he became only the fourth jockey in history to win more than 300 races on that circuit in a single season.
- Rode six winners from nine mounts on one card at Calder on Sept. 7, 1998, tying a track record for most races won in a single day. He was inducted into Calder’s Hall of Fame in 2004.
- Came to the United States in 1993, but returned to his native Venezuela in 1994 due to issues with his apprentice status. Made a permanent move to the U.S. in 1996, starting in Florida.
- Was a five-time judo champion in Venezuela between the ages of eight and 18, but left the sport to go to jockey school from 1989-1991. Started riding in Venezuela in 1992.
- Hobbies include riding his motorcycle and playing basketball.
