  • Residence: Miami, Fla.
  • Family: wife Natalia, sons Michael, Giancarlo and Christian.
  • Through Oct. 5, 2008, had 757 mounts with 136 wins and earnings of $5,559,249, to rank him in the top 30 jockeys by earnings in 2008.
  • Douglas won his first Breeders’ Cup race in 2006 aboard Dreaming of Anna in the Juvenile Fillies.
  • Top wins in 2008 include Winchester (G1 Secretariat), Dancing Forever (G1 Manhattan, G2 Elkhorn), Lewis Michael (G2 Pat O'Brien), Communique (G3 Modesty), Maurakalana (G3 The Very One and Mairzy Doates), and Silverfoot (G3 Stars & Stripes)

  • His 11 stakes wins at Arlington Park in 2002 and in 2007 equals the single-season mark shared by three other jockeys - Kennard Knapp (1965), Pat Day (1981) and Jorge Velasquez (1989).
  • Douglas moved his tack to Southern California from Chicago during fall 2004. He was leading rider at the 2004 Hollywood Park fall meet and finished second to Pat Valenzuela during the 2004-2005 Santa Anita Park meeting. Recorded 3,000th win Jan. 13, 2005 at Santa Anita.
  • Took time off at the end of 2005 when his brother died and his father was ill with cancer. Spent two months in his native Panama with his father before he passed away in January 2006. Began riding again in February at Gulfstream.
