- Family: wife Tina, children Fallon, Marcus and Mecus.
- Racing Career: Retired at a ceremony in his honor Nov. 10, 2007 at Churchill Downs. On his final day as a rider, he won on Ethan's Gift before finishing seventh on Bel Air Beauty in the G3 Mrs. Revere and ninth aboard maiden Holy Roman Empire. In his 32-year career, he won 5,043 races from 31,321 mounts; 330 of those wins were at Churchill. He had accumulated earnings of $100,857,648 ... His most memorable victory came in the 2006 Kentucky Oaks aboard Lemons Forever. The pair rallied from last place to win by 1 1/2 lengths at odds of 47-1 ... Best finishes from previous Breeders’ Cup mounts have been a third in 2005 Classic with Perfect Drift, a third in the 2000 Juvenile Fillies with She’s A Devil Due, and two fourths, including his final Breeders' Cup ride in 2007 aboard Benny the Bull in the Sprint ... He had a total of five Kentucky Derby mounts with best finishes on Imawildandcrazyguy (4th in 2007) and Buzzards Bay (5th in 2005) ... Cajun-born rider began riding at the bush tracks in his home state at age 9. At 16, he began his pari-mutuel career, riding his first winner, Tempermental Tom, at Delta Downs ... Rode in Louisiana until 1986 when he moved his tack to Fairmount Park in Illinois and then on to the Chicago tracks. Known as "King of Chicago," he has dominated rider's standings at Arlington Park (two leading rider titles), Hawthorne (seven titles), Sportsman's Park (nine titles) ... Inducted into the Hawthorne Hall of Fame in 1997 ... Association with Kentucky-circuit perennial leading trainer Dale Romans made 2005 a personal-best year for Guidry. Stakes wins that year included the West Virgina Derby (Real Dandy), Santa Anita Derby (Buzzards Bay), Washington Park H (Perfect Drift) and Golden Rod (French Park) ... Received George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award in 2006 as the rider whose career and personal character reflect positively on themselves and racing. "This is the icing on the cake," he said. "It ranks way over any other accomplishments that I've had in my career." ... Earned the 5,000th victory of his career when he piloted the D. Wayne Lukas-trained Chippewa Trail to win the first race on Churchill’s 133rd Kentucky Oaks undercard May 4, 2007 ... Was named an Arlington Park "Legend in Racing" and honored with a special ceremony and presentation on Aug. 10, 2007 ... Plans to attend the Racing Officials Accreditation Program at the University of Louisville and become a steward.
