Strengths: Fantastic turn of foot, and capable of producing it with blazing final furlongs (:22-and-change on the record). In expert hands of America's premier turf trainer, Neil Drysdale, and regular pilot Corey Nakatani, dominated California grass racing in 2006. Was a sub-par stakes performer overseas and blossomed on the harder turf courses in California
Status: Aragorn went to stud in 2007 at Lane's End Farm near Versailles, Ky. His 2008 fee remains at $30,000
In The Genes: From the first crop of 2000 BC Classic runner-up Giant's Causeway, the hottest young sire in the industry. His first crop also included G1 winners Oonagh Maccool, First Samurai and Shamardal. Dam, Onaga, is full sister to Tacha, dam of 2003 European champion juvenile One Cool Cat. Onaga had a 2008 foal by Storm Cat and will be bred back to Giant's Causeway.
