Strengths: One of the few proven closers among the 2006 Sprint class, wining four straight stakes from off the pace this spring-summer. Beaten less than 3 lengths by Bordonaro and Thor's Echo in the Sunshine Millions Sprint.
Weaknesses: Just 1-for-5 lifetime in graded stakes and had no punch in the Grade 1 Forego in his first foray into the highest ranks, albeit at 7 furlongs.
In The Genes: Sire, Out of Place, achieved his biggest win in the Clark at Churchill Downs going long, but also placed in such races as the Donn, Iselin, Whitney and Woodward. Best offspring include Arkansas Derby winner Certain and Derby Trial winner Meetyouatthebrig. Dam, Beau Arts Ball (by 1991 Classic champ Black Tie Affair), earned $125,000 and was stakes-placed.
Bet You Didn't Know: Veteran made 40 consecutive starts in his home state of Florida before venturing to Saratoga this summer.
