  • Breeding/Racing Operation: Godolphin pioneered the large-scale wintering of horses in the warmer Dubai climate, before returning them to their bases in England and the U.S., from where they target the major races worldwide ... During 1994, Godolphin’s first year in business, Hilal Ibrahim was employed as the trainer in Dubai, based at the Al Quoz stables just outside the city of Dubai. Within a year Simon Crisford was hired as manager and Jeremy Noseda was brought on to help Ibrahim train the new imports and prepare them for their return to Newmarket … Dubai-born Saeed bin Suroor replaced Ibrahim in 1995 … Since its creation, the Godolphin operation has its European base at Moulton Paddocks in Newmarket and American operations in New York and Florida supervised by assistant Rick Mettee ... Daylami provided Godolphin with its first Breeders' Cup success when he rallied to win the 1999 Turf … Other major wins: Dubai Millennium (2000 Dubai World Cup, Prince of Wales’s Stakes), Fantastic Light (Man o’ War Stakes and the Hong Kong Cup, both in 2000 and the 2001 Breeders’ Cup Turf) and Sakhee (Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe) ... In 2001, Tempera and Imperial Gesture posted a 1-2 finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies for Godolphin with trainer Eoin Harty … In 2006, Electrocutionist landed the Dubai World Cup and Discreet Cat ran away with the UAE Derby. But Godolphin had to wait more than four months for its next Group 1 successes, when Librettist won in France and Cherry Mix scored in Germany. Librettist and Caradak went on to take two more big prizes in France, but the stable was hit with a crippling blow when Electrocutionist died suddenly that September. Godolphin was the leading owner in Britain in 2006.  ... Ramonti carried the banner for Godolphin in 2007, winning four Group 1 events, including the Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes before ending the year with a win in the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup. Godolphin again took champion owner honors in Britain in 2007 .…. American runners dominated 2008 for Godolphin with Music Note winning the Mother Goose, Coaching Club American Oaks, and Gazelle Stakes Grade 1 wins in four countries came from Cocoa Beach in the U.S. (and she was second in 2008 Ladies' Classic),  Creachadoir in England, Folk Opera in Canada, and All The Good in Australia. ... The 2008 Breeders' Cup was huge for both Godolphin and Darley. Music Note and Cocoa Beach finished second and third in the 2008 Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic, and Diabolical finished second in the Turf Sprint. Racing under the Darley banner, Midshipman, purchased privately from Robert and Janice McNair’s Stonerside Stable, won the Juvenile en route to divisional championship honors. Midshipman was then transferred from Bob Baffert to Godolphin under bin Suroor, and was derailed on his run for the Triple Crown with a soft tissue injury. He has rounded back to form with a victory in an allowance race at Belmont Park. Vineyard Haven wintered in Dubai before returning to the United States to finish second, after being disqualified from first, in the G1 NetJets King’s Bishop Handicap.  Regal Ransom finished second in the G3 U.A.E. Two Thousand Guineas before winning the G2 U.A.E. Derby. He also returned to the U.S. where he went on to finish eighth in the Kentucky Derby and after a break won the G2 Super Derby. ... Thus far in 2009, Godolphin runners have dominated American racing with Seventh Street winning the G1 Apple Blossom, wearing the colors of Darley Stable, before going on to win the G1 Go For Wand Handicap in Godolphin blue – she also finished second in the G1 Ogden Phipps and Ruffian Handicaps. Music Note won the Ballerina and Beldame stakes, Flashing took the Test, Gayego finished second in the Godolphin Mile before returning to the United States to win the Ancient Title, and Pyro won the Forego Stakes. Internationally, Mastery has a win in the Ladbrokes St. Leger, and Gladiatorous, who won the Dubai Duty Free in the spring, took the Premio Vittorio de Capua in Italy in the summer. ... Pyro’s win in the Forego gave Godolphin its 150th victory at the highest level. Schiaparelli's triumph in the Group 2 Darley Prix Kergorlay at Deauville saw Godolphin reach a notable landmark of 500 Group/Grade and Listed race wins since the stable’s inception.  ... Godolphin ranks second in the owner standings in England with 116 wins from 463 starts through Oct. 26, 2009 and earnings of $4,151,951. In the U.S., Godolphin is 13th with 15 wins from 51 starts for earnings of $2,604,230.
