Silks and Media:

Strengths: Handles a deep, tiring racetrack as well as any horse in the handicap division, having success at places like Calder, Hawthorne and Belmont – when fourth in last year's Classic at 69-to-1.

Weaknesses: Could not get by Lava Man despite getting an eight-pound weight break in the Hollywood Gold Cup and struggled mightily vs. Electrocutionist in the Dubai World Cup. 6-year-old has yet to register that defining victory that would put him atop the division.

In The Genes: Son of 1992 Preakness winner Pine Bluff, who finished 7th in the 1991 Juvenile at Churchill and fifth in the next spring's Derby over that strip. Dam, Lindsay Frolic, has been a prolific stakes producer on the Calder circuit and was a seven-time stakes winner herself.

Bet You Didn't Know: Trainer Vladimir Cerin's occupation before that of trainer was sports medicine, and the UCLA graduate with a degree in kinesiology worked with such athletes as basketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton and tennis great Tracy Austin.
