Strengths: Capable of making a long, sustained run, whereas as many turf runners quicken only in the final quarter-mile. Well-managed career finding the right spots to maximize his abilities.
Weaknesses: Needs a favorable pace scenario to set up his run, and has not been a match for the west's elite horses. Seems to do his best running on a very firm turf course, and would be questionable on softer or more-lush going.
In The Genes: Sire, With Approval, was second in the 1990 BC Turf. He is the grandsire of 2004 Turf winner Better Talk Now. Dam, Potrichal, was a G1 winner in Argentina and full sister to two Argentine champs, including eventual US import Potridee.
Bet You Didn't Know: T.H. Approval gets his name from owner/breeder and Japanese resident Tadehiro Hotehama.
