Strengths: Four-time group 1 winner is considered one of Europe's classiest grass runners and has held the utmost company throughout his career. Solid showing in 2006 Breeders' Cup Classic, (sixth of 13) despite a poor trip at Churchill Downs, earning a rock-solid 106 Beyer Speed Figure in his only main track appearance to date.
Weaknesses: Pure grass miler has tried 10 furlongs only once overseas and once in last year's Classic, netting only a third-place run from those efforts. Retired following the 2006 Classic only to fail at stud. He was brought back into training, though his 3-race campaign in 2007 did not live up to his sophomore form.
In The Genes: Sire, Danehill, has produced Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf champions Banks Hill and Intercontinental, as well as Mile runner-up Rock of Gibraltar. Maternal grandson of 1987 Kentucky Derby and 1988 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Alysheba, out of Bordighera. Bred by Roy and Gretchen Jackson of Barbaro fame.
Status: The 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic ended on a very sad note when George Washington was not running well over the track, suffered a catastrophic injury and was humanely euthanized.
