Strengths: Proven, Grade 1-caliber filly witnessed by her 2005 Kentucky Oaks score. Has excelled through long-stretch racetracks like Churchill Downs and Fair Grounds despite her front-running style.
Weaknesses: Has not reproduced her stellar 3-year-old for at age 4, which often happens with fillies or mares. Pretty one-dimensional in terms of running style, needing the lead and trying to catch a field that won't push her too hard too soon.
In The Genes: Daughter of 1990 Preakness winner Summer Squall, best known as the sire of 1999 Kentucky Derby winner Charismatic and 1996 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Storm Song. Dam, Here I Go is a daughter of the great Seattle Slew and herself was graded stakes-placed in the Golden Rod at Churchill.
Status: Had a 2008 colt by Distorted Humor and will be bred back to him.
Bet You Didn't Know: Ashado is the only filly or mare in history to win the Kentucky Oaks and Breeders' Cup Distaff.
