Strengths: One of the sport’s fastest horses away from the gate, he avoids much of the trouble that big fields can produce. Ran one of the best races of his career, speed figure-wise at Monmouth Park in 2005 at the Sprint’s distance.
Weaknesses: He’s made the early lead in each of the past two BC Sprint editions, but has failed to hold onto a Top 3 placing on championship day. His highest-level career victory has come in the Grade 3 ranks, and he has to prove he can go wire-to-wire against the upper echelon.
In The Genes: Sire Forest Wildcat, a graded stakes-winning sprinter in his own right, is having a banner 2007 with offspring like top 2-year-old Salute the Sarge and top Filly & Mare Sprint contender Wild Gams. Dam, Sweet Symmetry, earned more than $113,000 on the track.
