- Racing Background: Began career as a hotwalker at Belmont Park and Aqueduct during the mid-1960s
- Racing Career: Frankel had a good season at the Santa Anita 2008-09 winter meet, when he saddled 17 winners to bring his all-time Santa Anita total to 916, 47 ahead of second-place Charlie Whittingham. He also leads in the same category at Oak Tree, with 270 all-time wins heading into the 2009 meeting, and he is the all-time leader by wins at Hollywood Park with 952 ... Frankel's 2009 graded stakes winners are Can-G1 Pattison Canadian International winner Champs Elysees; G1 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap, G2 San Juan Capistrano Handicap and G2 San Luis Rey Handicap winner Midships; G1 Santa Anita Oaks and G1 Las Virgenes Stakes winner Stardom Bound; G1 Santa Monica Handicap winner Ventura; G2 Buena Vista Handicap and G3 Monrovia Handicap winner Jibboom; and G2 Mervyn Muniz Jr. Memorial Handicap winner Proudinsky ...
