 Biography and Highlights:
  • Born: March 5, 1952, started his racing career as an apprentice rider to Willy Head, prior to moving on to Bernard Secly. Lellouche was a professional jockey for 10 years, riding over 170 winners before taking out a trainer's license in 1978
  • He currently has 150 horses in training at his yard in Chantilly, including many for the Wildenstein family with whom he has had a long-standing connection
  • Lellouche's first winner as a trainer came on July 10, 1979 with Springo at Saint-Cloud
  • After a couple of years without top-level success Lellouche made a major impact at that level in 2001. Helped by the decision of leading owner Daniel Wildenstein to transfer 42 of his string from Andre Fabre to his yard, Lellouche wasted little time in making full use of these top performers. Three-year-old filly Aquarelliste won the Group 1 Prix de Diane and Prix Vermeille befire running a highly creditable second to Sakhee in the Arc
  • Lellouche continued to make the most of his Wildenstein connection in the 2002 season. Aquarelliste won the Group 1 Prix Ganay and Group 2 Prix Foy, while Bright Sky won a pair of Group 1 events, the Prix de l'Opera on Arc day and the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) in June. She gave the Lellouche/Wildenstein connection their second successive win in the race. Lellouche saddled 57 winners from 446 runners in France for prize money of 2,289,420 euros and fifth place in the trainers' championship
  • For a long time, 2003 looked like a barren year for Lellouche as far as Group 1 successes were concerned. However, Westerner sprang a surprise in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp on October 5 to break the drought. Aquarelliste began the year with brilliant win in the Prix Exbury but was retired after finishing down the field in the Dubai World Cup, while Super Celebre's campaign finished early owing to a foot problem. Up to October 3, Lellouche was in sixth place on the trainer's ladder with 32 wins from 213 horses and 1,645,395 euros in prize money.
