- Born: Oct. 10, 1961, New Orleans, La.
- Residence: New Orleans, La.
- Family: Wife, Nicole; Father, Albert M. Stall, is a member of the Fair Grounds' Hall of Fame and was chairman of the Louisiana Racing Commission for almost three decades, with his 28-year run coming to an end in 2004
- Education: Stall Jr. holds a bachelor's degree in geology from Louisiana State University
- Racing Background: Stall worked several years as an assistant to trainer Frank Brothers in Louisiana before going out on his own, also learning the trade under Hall of Famer Jack Van Berg.
- Racing Career: Stall saddled his first winner in 1991 ... Two-time leading trainer at his home track of Fair Grounds, winning the title outright in 1997-98 and tying fellow LSU-grad Tom Amoss for the title in 1998-99 ... Best known for training grade 1-winning turf star Joyeux Danseur, winner of the 1998 Early Times Turf Classic and the Explosive Bid Handicap ... Joyeux Danseur, seventh in the 1998 Breeders' Cup Mile, was Stall's first and only Breeders' Cup starter to date ... Other top trainees include multiple stakes winner Moonlight Dancer, who earned more than $400,000 and ran third in the 1995 Louisiana Derby and multiple sprint stakes-winning filly Daylight Ridge ... Also saddled graded stakes winners Julianus, Formal Tango and Discreet Hero ... At press time, he is sixth in the trainer standing at Keeneland's 2008 Fall meet. His runners have hit the board in 75% of their starts ... Terrain, a Breeders' Cup Juvenile hopeful, and My Pal Charlie, a Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile contender, would be Stall's first career starters at Santa Anita.
- Breeding/Racing Operation: Trains 50 horses split from operations in Kentucky and Louisiana. Met Terrain's owner Adele Delschneider through his association with Claiborne Farm. Was introduced to My Pal Charlie's owner B.Wayne Hughes in 1997. "He wanted to send some of his horses from California back east, because he didn't feel they fit out there. A French broodmare agent Francious Dupree introduced us," he said.
