Earned a spot in the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic via a Breeders' Cup Challenge victory in the Delaware Handicap at Delaware Park on Sunday, July 13, 2008.
Strengths: Quick on her feet from the opening bell, she can take the race to her competition, but also has the patience to avoid a stirring battle if necessary. Tactically, Hystericalady can avoid much trouble given her quick turn of foot. Versatile at the highest class levels, having success from 7 furlongs to 1-1/4 miles, she has proven a sturdy shipper. Mare always has run well in front of big crowds, keeping her composure amongst chaos.
Weaknesses: Does her best running on traditional dirt, dropping several all-weather surface races as a short-priced favorite. Historically has had trouble in hotly contested races, losing the nod when looked in the eye and unable to dominate her competition. She made five cross-country journeys from her Northern California home base in between March and August 2008, which can take a toll.
