 Silks and Media:

Strengths: Impeccably bred colt having a career season at age 4 under the tutelage of the patient and expert hands of John Shirreffs. Major stakes winner in California and New York has shown he can take his “course” with him.

Weaknesses: Best-suited at 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 miles on turf, he’s a bit of an “in-betweener” in the context of championship divisions. He’s yet to win in three career tries that the mile distance on the lawn.

In The Genes: Sire, Storm Cat, ranks #1 all-time in Breeders’ Cup progeny earnings, with his 37 starters bagging more than $7.1 million. His four winners include Cat Thief, Desert Stormer, Sweet Catomine and Storm Flag Flying. Dam, grade 1-winner Tranquility Lake, was a 2-time Breeders’ Cup starter in the Distaff and Filly & Mare Turf divisions.

Status: Due to the track condition coming up unfavorably, After Market did not run in the Mile. The multiple grade 1-winner will enter stud in 2008 at Lane’s End Farm, near Versailles, Ky. His initial fee will be $35,000.

Bet You Didn’t Know: Legendary stallion Storm Cat has only sired 2 runners to have appeared in a Breeders’ Cup grass race, Catrail (’93 Mile) and Pleasant Temper (’99 F&M Turf), and they finished twelfth and ninth, respectively. Status: The multiple grade 1-winner will enter stud in 2008 at Lane’s End Farm, near Versailles, Ky.
