Strengths: Extremely consistent, she’s finished first or second in 12 of her last 15 starts, and has won five of six outings this year. Her biggest win to date came in the Grade 3 Winning Colors at Churchill Downs on May 28. Horses with her stalk-and-pounce style have enjoyed quite a bit of success in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, and that trend could transfer to the newly instituted female division.
Weaknesses: She has only one graded stakes win to her credit, and was fourth the only time she tested Grade 2 waters in the Aug. 3 Honorable Miss at Saratoga. She lacks the proven class of most of her Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint counterparts.
In the Genes: Her father, Trippi, a brilliant sprinter, was a multiple graded stakes-winning earner of $666,220. He currently ranks third amongst ’07 third crop sires. Her mother, Yada Yada, failed to win from three career starts, but she is a sibling to several successful runners, including $432,957 earner Reporter and $335,012 earner Source.
Bet You Didn’t Know: It’s been 18 years between Breeders’ Cup mounts for jockey Eusebio Razo Jr., who finished eighth in the ’89 Sprint with Black Tie Affair.
