Strengths: Highly respected in the barn of Hall of Famer Bobby Frankel, she was once considered a 2008 Kentucky Derby threat against the boys. Spectacular on synthetic surfaces at age two, she also has shown an affinity to handle the turf. Impeccably bred by Empire Maker and out of Rings a Chime, she has the pedigree, performances and running style to “stay” nearly any trip.
Weaknesses: Injured in a starting gate accident in the Gazelle Handicap, her light 2008 season was further put behind schedule. Required stitches on her belly, which restricted her training ability. Country Star yet to beat top-class horses in her generation or elders, as the quality of her major juvenile scores can be scrutinized.
