Qualified for the NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile via a victory in the Ancient Title on October 7, 2007 at Oak Tree at Santa Anita, one of the Breeders' Cup Challenge series races.
Strengths: Proven Grade 1 commodity, he’s faced and beaten many of the world’s best sprinters, including runner-up performances in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and Dubai Golden Shaheen. Superb traveler takes to any surrounding and footing, winning on dirt and synthetics, while stakes-placed on turf. Owns as much raw speed for the opening half-mile as any horse in the game.
Weaknesses: Failed to carry his speed beyond 6 furlongs in previous attempts. Inexperienced as a turf sprinter, there’s a concern he’s lost a step since his trip to Dubai and thus why he is re-routing from a return engagement in the BC Sprint. Exceptional speed, but can be susceptible to speed duels with only one gear.
Bet You Didn’t Know: Idiot Proof was named after a business motto that owner/breeder Marty Wygod preaches to his employees, to keep things “idiot proof.”
