 Silks and Media:

Strengths: Veteran has held top-class form since his 2-year-old season while being an exceptionally versatile runner at multiple locales. Can put himself in most any pressing or stalking position in a race as the situation develops. In Summation is a rare stakes winner on dirt, turf and various all-weather tracks.

Weaknesses: After a fabulous winter of 2007-’08, his form appears to have tailed off a bit as he’s not had as much punch finishing races as he once displayed. Remains a consistent player, but his continued brilliance is in question.

In the Genes: Maternal grandson of Dayjur, the hard-luck runner-up in the 1990 Breeders’ Cup Sprint to Safely Kept when the sure-fire winner jumped a shadow on the track nearing the finish line. Young stallion Put It Back is best-known for winning the former Riva Ridge on Belmont Stakes Day (now named the Woody Stephens).

Bet You Didn’t Know: In Summation opened his career 5-for-5 at Calder on conventional dirt when under the tutelage of trainer Frank Gomez.
