Status: By virtue of graded stakes earnings, Denis of Cork was the final horse to earn a spot in the Derby starting gate. At odds of better than 27-1, he surprised with a third-place finish. The Harlan's Holiday colt had another nice closing kick in the Belmont Stakes to finish second but he came up over five lengths short behind Da' Tara. His Kentucky-based connections are targeting the Travers as a goal.
Bet You Didn't Know: Denis of Cork is named after Rev. Denis Casey from County Cork, Ireland, and is a friend of owner William Warren.
