Earned a spot in the Breeders' Cup Marathon via a Breeders' Cup Challenge victory in the Cougar II Handicap at Del Mar on Wednesday, July 30, 2008.
Strengths: One-time claimer answered any class questions when beating Well Armed in the Grade 2 San Pasqual. Versatile running style lets the race come to him, assuming command if it’s slow and biding his time if the pace is quicker. Strong form from 1 mile to 1-1/2 miles, and he’s become a different horse since coming under the care of John Sadler.
Weaknesses: Nearly all of his career successes have come against short fields, and since he appears to be at his very best when riding the inside pine, that could be a problematic trip to find in a bulky field. Has raced exclusively in California, proving his mettle in the region, but could not match up with the east’s Go Between in the Pacific Classic and is otherwise unproven nationally and internationally.
