Silks

Strengths: As brilliant a pedigree as you’d want, she’s by first-crop sire Smarty Jones and out of a three-quarter sister to Wood Memorial winner Buddha. A slick blend of speed and endurance, she debuted a sprint winner on the dirt at Saratoga and then carried her speed despite a strong early pace to be second-best in the two-turn Alcibaides on Keeneland’s Polytrack.

Weaknesses: Lightly raced and inexperienced, she appears a bit one-dimensional early in her career and could be compromised by excessive early pace pressure. It’s also unknown how she might react given a troubled start.
