Silks

Strengths: Distance specialist has competed almost exclusively in races 1-1/4 miles or longer throughout his career. Showed his ability to travel and excel, taking to his American surroundings and developing into a graded-stakes performer stateside. He’s bred to run all day by distance-producing sire Galileo. Gelding carried in excess of 139 pounds overseas, so weight will not be an issue.

Weaknesses: Grinding style has served him well, but he’s been wide in most starts despite smallish field sizes. He could be victimized by ground loss in a large field. Did not stack up favorably overseas and he’s faced only California competition domestically, so it’s uncertain how he stacks up nationally.
