  • Residence: Hempstead, N.Y.
  • Family: Sons Alexander and Steve... Younger brother Jermaine also is a jockey who started at Calder and was based at Arlington Park in the summer of 2009.
  • Through Oct. 4, 2009, Bridgmohan stood 31st in the nation with earnings of $4,881,974 and has had 119 winners from 665 mounts. He was winning at an 18% clip, finishing in the money 47% of the time.
  • Best result from nine Breeders’ Cup mounts was a second-place finish in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (Pyro, 2007). He also finished third in the Juvenile Turf (Storm Treasure, 2008), was fourth in the Classic (Evening Attire, 2002) and was fourth in the  Juvenile Fillies (Appealing Zophie, 2006).
  • Top mounts of 2009 included Hightap (G3 Iowa Oaks, G3 Dogwood Stakes), Four Gifts (G3 Eight Belles Stakes), War Echo (G3 Silverbulletday Stakes), Sok Sok (Duncan F. Kenner Stakes), and Sax Appeal (Premier Night Matron Stakes).

  • Four mounts in the G1 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands in the past four years have been Private Vow (15th, 2006), Zanjero (12th, 2007), Pyro (9th, 2008), and Nowhere to Hide (17th, 2009).
  • Won three stakes at Gulfstream on Jan. 7, 2006 – the Hal's Hope, the Mr. Prospector and the Aventura. He then added a win in the Ft. Lauderdale Stakes the next day.
  • First win was on Glitter Lad at Calder in 1997 ... First stakes winner and graded stakes winner was Panama Canal in the Next Move Handicap in 1998 ... First Grade 1 winner was in the 2000 Carter Handicap on Brutally Frank. He won the following year’s Carter aboard Peeping Tom.
  • Moved from Jamaica to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., when he was 13, and was introduced to racing by his father, Gerald, an avid fan who took him to Calder. However, his father wouldn’t let him become a jockey until he graduated from high school. His biggest influence was the late Florida trainer Oliver (Buddy) Edwards. “I galloped for him. Once I started riding, he was my biggest supporter.”
