- Through Oct. 15, 2009, Husbands ranked 13th among all riders in North America with earnings of $7,878,577 and 146 winners from 828 starters. He visited the winner's circle at an 18% clip and had an in-the-money rate of 49%.
- Has ridden in seven Breeders’ Cup races, his only in-the-money finish coming in 2008 with a second, three-quarters of a length back in the Emirates Airlines Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf aboard Sealy Hill.
- Top mounts for 2009 included Marchfield (G2 Sky King Stakes, G3 Dominion Day Handicap), Sterwins (G3 Connaught Cup Stakes, With Approval Stakes), Smart Surprise with whom he won three stakes races (G3 Hendrie Stakes, Ontario Matron Stakes, Hill 'n' Dale Stakes), Pool Play (G3 Durham Cup Stakes), and El Brujo (Queenston Stakes, Achievement Stakes).
- Based at Woodbine, Husbands took home his sixth Sovereign Award as Canada’s outstanding jockey in 2008 ... Earned five riding titles at Woodbine from 1999 to 2008, and is currently the leading rider there for the 2009 meeting. Agent Gary Kemplen has his book.
- Earned his 2,000th career victory on October 4, 2009 at Woodbine.
- In 2007, swept the Triple Tiara for 3-year-old fillies (Labatt Woodbine Oaks, Bison City Stakes. and Wonder Where Stakes) with Sealy Hill, who went on to become Canada's 2007 Horse of the Year while taking home honors as Champion 3-year-old Filly and Champion Female Turf Horse as well.
- Had his first mounts in the G1 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands and G1 Kentucky Oaks in 2006 aboard Seaside Retreat and Top Notch Lady, respectively. Did not ride in the 2007, 2008, or 2009 editions.
- Took the 2003 Canadian Triple Crown (G1 Queen’s Plate, G1 Prince of Wales, and G1 Breeders’ Stakes) with Wando, the first horse in 10 years to sweep the three races.
- Won five races at Woodbine on Aug. 16, 2002, four of those were trained by Mark Casse, his main client.
- Brother Simon persuaded him to join him in riding in Canada. He started out at Fort Erie and won his first Woodbine stakes in 1998 … Became a Canadian citizen in 2000.
- Youngest rider ever to win the prestigious Cockspur Cup in his hometown in Barbados at age 16 ... Won the riding title at Garrison Savannah in 1993.
- Comes from a riding family. His father, Walter, was a jockey; his brother Anthony is a former Woodbine rider and outrider; and another brother, Simon, also rides at Woodbine ... “At 7, I was breezing horses bareback. I was very competitive. We had a farm inside the city limits, and we were always riding everything – cows, sheep.”
