- Born: November 21, 1968, in Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Residence: Pasadena, Calif.
- Family: wife Maria Carolina, a lawyer; twin daughters, Maria Clara and Maria Eugenia
- Racing Background: Third-generation horseman started as an assistant for his father in Brazil in 1988 before going on his own in 1995. Trajano Lobo, his grandfather, won 13 training titles in Brazil. Selmar Lobo, his father, led the standings seven straight years at Cidade Jardim in Sao Paulo ... Was a leading percentage trainer in Brazil and won group 2 and 3 races. Followed countrymen trainers A.C. Avila and Jose DeLima to California in January, 2001, after three Brazilian breeders bought five yearlings at the 2000 Keeneland September sale, including Lobo stable star Farda Amiga
- Racing Career: Enjoyed meteoric rise to fame in the United States in 2002 when Farda Amiga, purchased for $45,000 as a yearling, earned an Eclipse Award as 3-year-old filly champion. Farda Amiga, Lobo's only Breeders' Cup starter, won the Kentucky Oaks as a 20-to-1 longshot, captured the Alabama Stakes and finished second to champion Azeri in the Breeders' Cup Distaff ... Sent out Brazilian sprint sensation Pico Central to victories in G2 San Carlos Handicap and G1 Carter, Metroplitan Mile and Vosburgh handicaps in 2004 ... Posted back-to-back upset victories with Quero Quero and Lovely Rafaela in the G2 Honeymoon Breeders' Cup Handicap in 2003 and 2004, respectively ... Maintains public stable with a strong Brazilian flavor at Hollywood Park ... Credited Cushion Track at Hollywood Park with development of Brazilian import Molengao into a leading horse in the California handicap division in 2007. Molengao won the San Antonio and Mervyn LeRoy handicaps, both grade 2, and finished second to Lava Man in the Santa Anita Handicap.
