Starting Friday, racing fans can attempt to qualify for the world’s richest and most prestigious handicapping contests – the National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) and the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge (BCBC) – at the same time in exclusive joint qualifiers on HorsePlayers.com. The next major event on HorsePlayers.com, the new official qualifying site for the NHC and the BCBC, offers one “combo” prize package (1 NHC entry + 1 BCBC entry) per 65 entries.
Entry into the Friday qualifier is $344. “Feeder” tournaments offering berths to the main Friday contest are available daily for $38 per entry.
“HorsePlayers.com is the only place where one entry can simultaneously win you berths to the NHC and the BCBC,” said NHC Tournament Director Keith Chamblin. “Now if you have a huge day in April you can be fully qualified for the two most important annual contests that are still months away.”
The NHC annually offers prize money and awards totaling more than $2.5 million. The 19th NTRA National Horseplayers Championship Presented by Racetrack Television Network, STATS Race Lens™ and Treasure Island Las Vegas will be held February 9-11, 2018, at Treasure Island.
The $1 million-estimated BCBC is the richest live-money tournament in the world. The BCBC, which offers 15 seats to the NHC in addition to cash prizes, is a highly lucrative and exclusive live bankroll handicapping contest with a $10,000 buy-in required to participate. Held in conjunction with the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, this year’s BCBC is set for November 3-4.

About the National Horseplayers Championship
In its 19th year, the NTRA National Horseplayers Championship (formerly known as the NTRA National Handicapping Championship) is the world’s richest and most prestigious tournament of the year for horseplayers and is the culmination of a year-long series of NTRA-sanctioned local tournaments conducted by racetracks, casino race books, off-track betting facilities and horse racing and handicapping websites, each of which sends its top qualifiers to the national finals. Each year, the NHC winner joins other human and equine champions as an honoree at the Eclipse Awards. The most recent NHC offered record prize money and awards totaling more than $2.9 million. NHC 19 will be held February 9-11, 2018, at Treasure Island Las Vegas.
Insurance Office of America (IOA) is the official insurance partner of the NHC.
