: 2009 Rachel Alexandra galloped 1 1/2 miles at Churchill Downs in advance of her scintillating 20 1/4 length Ky Oaks win. The Medaglia d'Oro filly would end the year undefeated in 8 starts, including against males in the Preakness, Haskell and Woodward, and be named Horse of the Year.
