NTRA TODAY IN THOROUGHBRED RACING HISTORY 

May 19

2014 Belmont Park stewards agreed to allow the use of equine nasal strips for all horses racing at NYRA racetracks, effective immediately. The ruling resulted from a request by Art Sherman, trainer of Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome who was attempting to win the Belmont Stakes and the Triple Crown.
