- 2015 Secretariat's birthplace in The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County Virginia was named to the National Historic Register of Historic Places by the National Park Service. Secretariat was born on March 30, 1970 in a foaling shed on the property that also includes Secretariat's yearling barn and training barn.
