HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (Thursday, January 15, 2015) – Anyone still hoping to make it into the field for the Jan. 23-25 Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship (NHC) Presented by Racetrack Television Network, Sovereign Stable and Treasure Island Las Vegas has one more shot in Sunday’s annual “First Chance/Last Chance” NHC qualifier at Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino in Hallandale Beach, Fla. The top two finishers in the “live money” contest win berths to the following weekend’s 16th annual NHC at the Treasure Island. If already qualified with the maximum two entries, the berths will be applied to next year’s NHC.

The First Chance/Last Chance tournament is $400 per entry ($200 entry fee + $200 live bankroll; maximum two entries per person). Registration opens at 10 a.m.

NHC berths for the top two overall finishers include airfare (capped at $500) and hotel accommodations. The top 10 finishers will split the prize pool. All entry fees will be returned as prize money.

No NHC Tour points will be awarded in this contest. All players in the position to earn a 2016 NHC seat must join the 2015 NHC Tour prior to start of play.  All others must be a member of the 2014 NHC Tour to win a berth to the 2015 NHC.
