MARK STREIFF AND EDMUND TEICHT WIN $5000 NHC TOUR BONUS MONEY
Mark Streiff (Mission Viejo, CA) won his second $5000 Daily Racing Form NHC Tour bonus onNovember 18. Mark has won three NHC Qualifiers this year, one at Surfside Race Place and two on Horsetourneys.com. He is currently leading the overall NHC Tour Leader Board. Edmund Teicht (Englewood Cliffs, NJ) won his second NHC Qualifier at Aqueduct on November 24.
Currently five NHC Tour members have won the $5000 bonus for finishing first in more than one qualifier. Mark Streiff and Mark McGuire have both won $10,000 each for finishing first in two NHC contests.
BETTY CHRISTIAN WINS THE TWINSPIRES ONLINE HANDICAPPING SERIES
The TwinSpires Online Handicapping Series began in April of this year and ended on November 24 awarding twenty NHC Tour members a seat to the guaranteed $1.5 million Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship, presented by Sovereign Stable and Treasure Island.

FIVE ON-TRACK NHC CONTESTS IN DECEMBER
Keeneland and Turfway Park will be hosting back-to-back NHC qualifiers this weekend, December 1-2. Keeneland’s event will take place on Saturday, December 1. The entry fee is $150. Fair Grounds is hosting a “Beat the Champs” contest on December 15. Three seats for NHC 14 will be awarded and cash prizes will be paid out to all players who finish ahead of past NHC Champions and Louisiana natives, Judy Wagner and Michael Beychok. Click here for details and entry form.
Surfside Race Place will be hosting the last NHC events to earn NHC Tour points in 2012. A maximum of nine NHC berths will be awarded over the December 28-30 weekend. Click here for more details.
NHCQUALIFY.COM TO AWARD A MAXIMUM OF THIRTY-SIX NHC SEATS IN DECEMBER
NHCQualify.com will be hosting three $400 one-day NHC qualifiers on December 1, 15 and 29. Entries will be capped at 200 and a maximum of 10 NHC seats will be awarded per contest. NHCQualify.com will be hosting a $160 qualifier on December 8. Entries will be capped at 300 and a maximum of 6 NHC seats will be awarded.
LAME DUCK SESSION OF CONGRESS COULD HAVE TAX IMPLICATIONS FOR HORSEPLAYERS
NTRA CEO Alex Waldrop reports that the NTRA legislative team in Washington, DC, is closely monitoring actions under consideration in the lame duck session of Congress to avert the so-called “fiscal cliff.” Actions by Congress could have impacts on tax withholding, mandatory reporting levels and itemized deductions.
