Ever since I was a little girl dreaming of ponies, my dad knew just where to take me: Arlington Park Race Track, our home track and the birthplace of my racing passion. It was there, in 1996, that I saw the legendary Cigar gallop his way to his 16th consecutive win, forever sealing my fate as a racing enthusiast. Dad taught me the ropes, and I've been handicapping races with enthusiasm ever since! (Still patiently waiting for that pony, Dad!) Hawthorne Race Course is another of my beloved home tracks, rounding out my love for the sport and adding to the excitement of each race day. Cigar will always hold a special place in my heart as my favorite Thoroughbred, inspiring me to dive headfirst into the exhilarating world of horse racing.
