Player Bio
Frank is a 14-time qualifier to the NHC and perhaps could be considered a "journeyman" tournament player. Having said that, he just finished as the runner-up in the NHC 2026, falling short of the championship by eighty-four cents, the closest finish in the history of the NHC. The $300,000 runner-up check provided some satisfaction in the overall process. Frank's best tournament victory was the 2018 DRF World Championship of Handicapping, which at the time was the largest online handicapping tournament in the business. Unfortunately, the DRF left the tournament business for a few years after they cut the first-place winners check to Polk. Other significant tournament finishes for Polk include 2nd place in the HoseTourneys FLO-CAL Faceoff in 2020 and a 4th place finish in the same tournament in 2021. Polk graduated from Duke Law School in 1980 and practiced as an aviation finance and regulatory attorney for over 30 years. He is married to the lovely and talented Lou Ann Ables Polk and is currently and happily retired.
