Steve Asmussen moved ahead of Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg and into 2nd place on the all-time North American Thoroughbred trainer by wins list. Asmussen won two races to end the day at 6,418 wins and would go on to eclipse Dale Baird for the overall wins title in August 2021 at Saratoga Race Course.
