BREEDERS’ CUP AND JOHN DEERE RENEW AND EXPAND MULTI-YEAR PARTNERSHIP
John Deere Named Title Partner of $1 million John Deere Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 23, 2024) — Breeders’ Cup Limited and John Deere have announced the renewal of a multi-year partnership solidifying John Deere as the Official Supplier of Agricultural, Turf, and Construction Equipment for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
Under the agreement, John Deere becomes the name-in-title partner of the $1 million John Deere Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1), which will be run on Future Stars Friday, Nov. 1, at this year’s World Championships.
“John Deere is immensely proud to be the official supplier of agricultural, turf and construction equipment for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships and the Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry dating to 2002. This year, we are equally excited to expand our partnership with the Breeders’ Cup to include title sponsorship of the John Deere Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf,” said Auston Till, Equine Business Manager, John Deere Ag & Turf.
“We are delighted that John Deere has continued to partner with the Breeders’ Cup. They remain a trusted resource for horsemen of many disciplines and have shown fantastic support of equestrian sports on a global scale,” said Heather Higgins, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for Breeders’ Cup Limited. “John Deere has enjoyed a long association with the World Championships, and we look forward to expanding our partnership.”
John Deere will also partner with Breeders’ Cup in entitling the John Deere Turf Course and the John Deere Dirt Course at the World Championships and will present the John Deere Award to an outstanding Thoroughbred breeder of a Breeders’ Cup contender upon completion of the two-day global festival of racing.
John Deere has offered exclusive equine discounts through the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s NTRA Advantage program since 2002 and has been the official equipment supplier of the NTRA since 2001.
“The longstanding collaboration between John Deere and the Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry is critical in keeping our farms and racetracks supplied with the highest standard equipment,” said NTRA President and CEO Tom Rooney. “The NTRA Advantage Equine Discounts program partners with John Deere to provide significant savings to the entire Thoroughbred racing industry, which may then be channeled toward initiatives that help grow and expand the sport. We are excited for the announcement of this multi-year agreement, which further demonstrates that horse racing and John Deere go hand in hand.”
Featuring 14 Grade 1 races and more than $34 million in purses and awards, the 2024 World Championships will entertain fans from around the globe as the sport’s best horses, owners, breeders, trainers, and jockeys compete over two days of world-class racing Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Del Mar, California. Attendees will enjoy outstanding culinary experiences, high fashion, and top entertainment at Del Mar, “Where the Turf meets the Surf” on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, as the World Championships are held at the seaside oval for a third time.
