Global Gaming Solutions, the commercial business of the Chickasaw Nation, which owns Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie near Dallas and Remington Park in Oklahoma City, has joined the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA). This is the latest in a string of new additions to the NTRA’s roster of dues-paying industry partners in recent months, following previously announced commitments from Churchill Downs Inc. (Churchill Downs, Arlington International, and Fair Grounds Race Course), Hawthorne Race Course, Betfair US/TVG, and AmWager.

“We are delighted to welcome Global Gaming Solutions and its more than 10,000 employees as members of the NTRA,” said NTRA President & CEO Alex Waldrop. “Lone Star Park and Remington Park have been key supporters of NTRA initiatives through the National Horseplayers Championship and the NTRA Advantage group purchasing program and we look forward to working even more closely on the critical goal of improving the business environment for racetracks nationwide.”

Both Lone Star Park and Remington Park were among the NTRA’s first member racetracks when the organization was launched in 1998.

“I’m very pleased that both Remington Park and Lone Star Park are returning as members of the NTRA,” said Scott Wells, president and general manager of Remington Park and Lone Star Park. “Since acquiring the tracks in 2010 and 2011, respectively, Global Gaming Solutions has continued to demonstrate their commitment to the sport and business of horseracing. Our corporate culture meshes perfectly with the mission of the NTRA.”

Lone Star Park is celebrating its 20th year of Thoroughbred racing in 2017 with a 50-day meet that opens tonight. Live racing will be held Fridays to Sundays through July 30, with additional programs on select Thursday nights (April 20, June 15 & July 27), Memorial Day (May 29), and July 3 & 4. Lone Star Park is also home to a multi-million dollar, 36,000-square-foot racebook, sports bar and event venue, Bar & Book.

Remington Park is in the midst of an annual American Quarter Horse meet that runs through June 3. Live Thoroughbred racing returns in September. Since 1988, Remington Park has been the premier racetrack in Oklahoma and also offers 750 slot machines.
